Theatre company chief’s final bow after helping to raise over £360,000 for charity

A founder member of Act IV Dundee’s charity fundraising comedy theatre company took his final bow when he stepped down as president and director.
For the last 29 years Mike Jeffries has helped the company raise more than £360,000 for more than 60 charities.
“It’s been hard work but we have had a huge amount of fun putting the shows together,” he said.
“It has also been very rewarding and we are delighted to have been able to contribute so much to charity at the same time.
“I am now looking forward to taking a back seat, but I will remain involved at some level and might even accept an offer of a walk-on part, as long as I don’t have to memorise too many lines!”
One of Mike’s final duties was to present cheques totalling more than £8,700 raised by September’s production of The Liver Birds.
Act IV is now looking for charities that would like to be involved next autumn when they will present the comedy, The Lass wi the Muckle Moo.
