A challenging charity duathlon in the Angus glens will be a test of fitness and endurance and raise funds for Tayside Mountain Rescue.
Participants in the Glen Clova Xtreme Duathlon will embark on a 20km cycle around Glen Clova valley, followed by a further 7km ride to the ranger station at Glen Doll.
They will then walk or run up the Munros Driesh and Mayar, before returning to the ranger station to cycle back to base camp at the Glen Clova Hotel.
There is an eight-hour time limit for the whole challenge to be completed on September 14.
After the day on the hills, a barbecue and ceilidh will be held at the hotel.
Paul Russell, deputy team leader and equipment officer at Tayside Mountain Rescue, hopes as many people as possible will be able to take part.
Funds raised will go towards buying new technical, medical and safety equipment, training volunteers and on vehicles.
“As this is the first time this event has been held in the Tayside area, we are looking to raise as much money as possible,” he said. “We value all contributions, however small or large, to help meet our yearly operating costs of around £40,000.”
