A Dundee United fan has issued a tongue-in-cheek offer to his beloved Tangerines to play for free.
United sit 11 points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership and after last week’s defeat to city rivals Dundee, 55-year-old life-long fan Johnny Nicoll decided enough was enough.
Taking to Facebook the desperate fan declared he would offer his services for free and, despite being a “little overweight”, would give “heart, desire and commitment” to ensure the Tannadice club stayed in the league.Click image to read the full letter
Speaking to The Courier, Johnny said: “The way United are playing we’re all a bit gutted. I thought I would try something a bit tongue-in-cheek to lighten the mood.
“The club means so much to the fans. These players can all go on to other clubs, but the fans are United for life.”
