A hammer-wielding man in a balaclava has been captured on camera breaking into a taxi firm’s offices in Dundee.
The thief used the hammer to smash his way into Tay Taxis’ premises on Clepington Road on Sunday evening.
The CCTV footage shows him smashing the window and damaging the window frame at 22.04pm before entering the firm’s back offices.
He spends a little over a minute inside before exiting through the window with an undisclosed haul of items.
The man is understood to have caused significant damage to the office, despite his brief stay, having attempted to prise some items from the walls.
A spokesman for the firm made an appeal to the Dundee public to help the police trace the person responsible and offered a reward for information.
“Tay Taxis has always championed itself as a community business which supports a number of great causes and community projects,” he said.
“We are offering a cash reward for information resulting in this individual being brought to justice.
“Hopefully this mindless and heartless individual can be brought to justice with the help of the good people of Dundee.”
Police Scotland said it is investigating the break-in.
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
