More than 300 years after it was fought, the gory details of the infamous Battle of Killiecrankie were revealed in full at a summer event.
Held in the woods above Soldier’s Leap, the interactive talk gave visitors the chance to find out more about the bloody battle between Highland clans supporting King James VII of Scotland and government troops backing King William of Orange.
After hearing how the Jacobite army raised by the first Viscount of Dundee, John Graham of Claverhouse, had slain almost 2000 soldiers while losing 800 of their own men, children were able to take part in a number of activities and peruse a display of weapons outside the Killiecrankie Visitor Centre.
The talk will be repeated every Wednesday at 2pm until August 18.
