Litter louts are destroying a local beauty spot, according to campaigners.
Westquarter Wildlife Group say large amounts of rubbish have been left in the Braes village’s glen area, despite efforts to spruce up the area.
Around £180,000 of grants and investment was pumped into the area to make it more accessible following years of neglect. Rubbish dumped in the area includes fast food containers, cigarette packages and even windows.
Amanda Cameron, of the volunteer group, said: “On a recent litter pick we filled 12 big rubbish bags, which is absolutely ridiculous. We even found double-glazed windows.
“Our members are finding litter, rubbish and fly-tipping at the glen all the time and it’s getting to the stage where we are wondering if it’s worth the effort to keep cleaning up if people just don’t care.
“It’s ruining things for everyone and it’s a real shame because the glen is so beautiful.”
Litter is one of the top three topics which Falkirk Council receives complaints about.
