Police probe racist rant on Stirling Council worker’s Facebook

Police have launched a probe into racist comments posted on a Stirling Council worker’s Facebook page in the wake of the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich.

The man, who works in the local authority’s roads and transport department, has denied writing the remarks.

Comments on his Facebook page suggested hanging “they two Muslim b******s” alleged to be responsible for the soldier’s death.

The post calls on Britain to “make a stand…against these scum b*****s”.

The remarks were said to have been posted near Dunblane via mobile on May 27, five days after Drummer Rigby was killed.

It reads: “Watching the news and really feel strongly about hanging they two Muslim b*******.

“How can we not stand up as a nation and say no way to these f****** disgusting lowlife bastards who take a life in the name of what ever c*** they preach to.

“Come in (sic) Britain. Hang these bastards and make a f****** stand against these scum b******* who are probably oan benefits.”

Another comment, dated May 26, reads “Lets hang these Muslim b******s.”

Two days earlier a BNP photograph concerning the pay of MPs is shared on the council worker’s page.

It has been reported that the Stirling Council employee has since denied writing the remarks or posting the picture.

A spokeswoman for the local authority said: “I’m afraid we can’t comment on this as it’s now a police matter.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland’s Forth Valley Division said: “Our inquiries are continuing.”

Last week an Alloa man was jailed after writing racist comments on Facebook the day after Drummer Rigby’s violent death.

Gary McKay, 27, was sentenced to four months in prison for the comments when he appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on July 4.
