Angus takeaway worker awaits sentence for sex offences
ByThe Courier Reporter
A 69-year-old Chinese takeaway worker who spent a year preying on young girls he found “alluring” has had his sentence further deferred until July 30.
Wing Fung Ho, of Solway Gardens, Monifieth, previously avoided jail at Arbroath Sheriff Court, after admitting a catalogue of sexual offences against under-age girls, dating back to August 2010.
He pleaded guilty to five charges of lewd and libidinous behaviour, relating to sexual comments, touching and rubbing of the girls’ knees and shoulders, and asking them if they had had sex or watched pornography.
In another incident, Ho showed a girl a picture of a topless female in a newspaper and began shouting, “that’s you, that’s you”.
Sheriff Peter Paterson had deferred sentence on Ho for six months, placed him on the sex offenders register and ordered him to pay £500 compensation.
The court heard that on Tuesday that Ho had paid the compensation to his victims and the case was further deferred due to the lack of an interpreter.
He will appear again on July 30.
