Terrorised wife’s relief at ‘getting her life back’
ByThe Courier Reporter
A woman has spoken of her Hell at the hands of her “deranged” ambulance boss husband.
Maureen Gordon, 49, breathed a sigh of relief on Wednesday when her husband Grant, the father of three of her four children, was jailed for eight months at Airdrie Sheriff Court for terrorising her over two years.
He was also given a three-year non-harassment order banning him from approaching or contacting her after what the sheriff described as one of the worst cases of domestic abuse he had seen.
Gordon, a former manager with the Scottish Ambulance Service in Dundee, chased Maureen with an axe and threatened to cut her throat.
“To others he seemed very nice but behind closed doors he was a different person,” Maureen said.
“He was very manipulative, possessive and controlling.”
Speaking after Gordon was jailed, Maureen said: “I’ve finally got my life back.”
