THE WIDOW of a bus driver found dead in a cemetery has blasted his employers, calling for a probe into his death.
The body of Filep Myzylowskyj (57) was discovered at Dundee’s Balgay Cemetery on Thursday after he went missing from his family home on Boxing Day.
His wife Janet’s plea for an investigation was backed by MP Jim McGovern, who has known father-of-three Mr Myzylowskyj since they were at primary school together.
The National Express Dundee bus driver had been involved in a collision with a pedestrian in March in the city’s Commercial Street and last night his widow said even though he had been cleared of any blame she felt let down by his employers, claiming they had not supported him properly.
“He never returned to work,” Mrs Myzylowskyj said. “He was diagnosed by his own GP with post-traumatic stress disorder and severe depression.
“The only thing the company did was give him six counselling sessions. It’s disgusting the way they treated him.
“He never recovered. He kept blaming himself and getting flashbacks. I’m angry because this should never have happened.”
However, a National Express spokeswoman said Mr Myzylowskyj had been in receipt of the company’s full support.
She said: “Mr Myzylowskyj was off from work since March 2012 on full pay and from that time we fully supported his quest to take early retirement on ill-health, sourcing and funding medical treatment.
“Our thoughts and sympathies remain with Mr Myzylowskyj’s family at this very distressing time and we encourage them to approach us directly to discuss any concerns.”
