Two men were rushed to hospital last night after they were seriously injured in an Angus road crash.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the men from their car after it overturned and ended up on its roof on a country road just before 8pm.
The accident happened at Easthaven, between Arbroath and Carnoustie, and sparked a full emergency response.
The trauma team from Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, and an air ambulance were called to the scene alongside police and fire crews.
Firefighters managed to get the men out of the vehicle on long boards before they were treated by paramedics.
They were then taken to hospital by road ambulance under police escort.
The ages and condition of the men had not been released last night.
It has been a horrific week on Angus roads. A man lost a leg at the weekend after being involved in an accident with a car on the A92 at the Salmond’s Muir junction.
On Tuesday a woman was killed after her car struck a stationary lorry at Stracathro.
