Dundee church considers leaving Kirk in gay ministers protest

A Dundee church is considering leaving the Kirk over its decision to allow the appointment of openly gay ministers.
Logie and St John’s Cross in Blackness Avenue is set to be the fourth church to leave after a meeting of its congregation.
The Church of Scotland told The Courier: “We can confirm that the Kirk Session of Logie and St John’s Cross Church has decided to consider leaving the Church of Scotland.
“This is an amicable conversation at a very early stage.”
Despite approaches from The Courier, no one from the Dundee church was available for comment.
Holyrood Abbey Church in Edinburgh became the third church to decide to quit after the decision.
A spokesman for the Church of Scotland said: “It is not surprising that a small number of ministers and members reacted immediately to decisions taken at the General Assembly but the work of the Church of Scotland will continue unabated.”
