From Scotland With Love has licence to thrill in New York

Some of the world’s biggest names in fashion and fame gathered in New York under a tartan banner.

Famous faces from all over the world met at the “From Scotland With Love” annual charity fashion show on Monday to herald the culmination of Tartan Week in the Big Apple.

Miss Scotland Nicole Treacy along with such Scottish icons as Billy Connolly and Gerard Butler graced the catwalk in various tartan outfits mixed with an Asian style as the event reached out to countries such as China and Japan in a bid to expand its appeal.

For more than a decade Tartan Week has been celebrated in style in New York with the fashion event acting as one of the central attractions.

The swanky event attracts large press coverage and is designed to promote a more contemporary vision of Scotland, as well as give more exposure to the country’s fashion and culture, and raise money for charities in the US and UK.
