Scottish Government accused of adopting ‘Maoist strategy’

The Scottish Government has been accused of adopting a “Maoist” strategy after a report emerged advising ministers how to influence people’s behaviour.
The document, prepared for the SNP by APS Group Scotland, outlines how voters can be swayed into taking action to fit a government’s policy goal.
It says variations of “ISM” the Individual, Social and Material have been used by various administrations at Westminster.
Scottish Conservative deputy leader Jackson Carlaw said: “We know the SNP is selling Maoist onesie suits, and now Maoist policy is on the agenda. Soon we will all have a little black book telling us how to behave.”
Scottish Labour’s James Kelly added: “The timing of this ‘guide’ is pretty convenient given the blows they have taken in recent weeks as their case for independence is pulled apart.”
