A COOKBOOK created to raise money for a university morgue has been shortlisted for a major prize.
The Killer Cookbook features recipes from leading crime authors, including Ian Rankin, Val McDermid and Jeffery Deaver.
Sales contribute to the £1 million campaign to upgrade Dundee University’s morgue and allow it to use a new form of embalming.
The book is now one of five competing in the best charity and fundraising in Europe category at the World Cookbook Awards, with the winner to be announced in Paris in February.
“We are absolutely delighted that the Killer Cookbook is being given international recognition,” said Emily Dewhurst, from the Million For A Morgue campaign. “The book has been really well received and we must say a big thank you once again to all of our contributors.”
Professor Sue Black, director of the university’s centre for anatomy and human identification, said: “I can only thank everyone who has bought the book and helped us to raise much needed funds.”
The Killer Cookbook is available in bookshops and at millionforamorgue.com.
