The organiser of a banger race across Europe hopes adventurers from his home town of Cupar will sign up.
Rust 2 Rome sees competitors motor 3000 miles from Scotland to Italy in vehicles costing no more than £500.
Marko Fleming is hoping to persuade drivers from Cupar to be on the starting line when the bangers set off from Edinburgh on July 2.
Rust 2 Rome, in its sixth year, is the only rally of its kind to leave from Scotland. It has raised thousands for good causes, including hospices charity CHAS.
Seven teams have already registered for the dash through some of Europe’s most famous cities and over some of the continent’s most demanding roads.
Marko said, “What makes Rust 2 Rome unique is the route that it takes drivers on.
“The emphasis is on demanding, challenging roads and visiting towns and villages that aren’t well known but give a true reflection of the country and its culture.”Further information is available on the website www.rust2rome.com.
