Heart of Scotland Airshow will celebrate a century of aviation

The skies above Perth will be the focus of the weekend for the Heart of Scotland Airshow.
The event on Saturday and Sunday is set to be bigger and better than ever as it will celebrate a century of aviation, as well as the Perth 800 and 70 years since the Battle of Britain.
Among the highlights at the show, which is expected to attract over 6000 visitors, will be flights across Perth in a 1930s-designed biplane airliner courtesy of Air Atlantique Classic Flight.
The eight-seat de Havilland Dragon Rapide visiting the air show was built for the RAF in 1944 and is now one of just a handful flying in the world.
Appearing for a second time will be the RAF Typhoons display, as well as the Breitling Wingwalkers, the world’s only formation wing-walking display team.
There will be a large range of stalls and activities, and a chance to meet the pilots.
There will also be entertainment courtesy of Scotland’s cycle stunt team The Clan.
Gates open at 9am on both days, with the flying displays beginning at 11am and lasting until about 4.30pm.To view a gallery of pictures taken from the biplane in the sky above Perth click here.
