A recipe book containing tried and tested favourites contributed by celebrities and local people has been launched to raise funds for the Maggie’s Centre in Dundee.
Among the contributors is television presenter Lorraine Kelly, who has provided her mum’s chicken soup recipe in the hope of helping the charity meet its £10,000 target for sales of the book.
”Maggie’s Centres throughout the UK do a wonderful job helping people whose lives are affected by cancer,” she said. ”They help during very difficult times and offer a wonderful mix of practical support, counselling and information.
”There’s a huge variety of tasty recipes in the collection that will make the mouth water. There are advance orders for over 400 books and they are selling quickly so I’m urging everyone to get their copies soon.”
The book also includes recipes for asparagus and pea risotto, from the Duchess of Rothesay, and First Minister Alex Salmond’s fine cullen skink.
However, the bulk of the recipes have been collected by Shirley Linton, chairwoman of Maggie’s Centre Dundee, from women attending her successful ladies’ lunches.
The collection can be bought at Waterstones in Dundee, Robertsons of Broughty Ferry, the Eduardo Alessandro Gallery and Westport Serviced Apartments, or call (01382) 456783.
