Major overnight resurfacing works have begun on a stretch of the A90 Perth-Dundee road.
Transport Scotland has urged all motorists due to travel on the route from 7.30pm-6.30am to leave extra time while the £85,000 improvement programme is carried out.
A section of the northbound carriageway between Glencarse and Glendoick will be affected, with works due to be completed by early on Friday morning. The southbound carriageway will not be affected.
Lane closures and a convoy system of traffic management with a 10mph speed limit will be in place. The exit northbound from Glencarse junction will be closed for part of the works, being carried out by Breedon Agregates on behalf of Bear Scotland.
Access into the junction will be maintained but traffic wishing to head north from Glencarse will be diverted south to the Kinfauns interchange where they will rejoin the northbound carriageway.
Eddie Ross of Bear Scotland said: ”This section of road is worn out and needs to be resurfaced. The works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays to motorists. We would, however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”
