Knockhill will host arguably the biggest sporting event in Scotland over the next three days when the MCE British Superbike (BSB) Championship motors on to the Fife race track.
Several thousand bike fans are expected to turn out to watch some of the biggest names in BSB compete.
Knockhill threatens to be the most exciting leg of the competition so far and could be where an eventual winner begins to emerge from the pack.
Going into round four, the frontrunner is Australian Josh Brookes, riding for Tyco Suzuki. Brookes has an impressive track record as a superbike rider stretching back over 10 years.
He lost out at Knockhill last year and has said he is now focusing on not repeating the same mistakes this year.
A close contender to Brookes for this year’s championship is Britain’s own Tommy Hill, who rides for the Swan Yamaha team.
Hill is defending the title he won last year.
As a British rider on a home track, Hill has an advantage, but the pressure is on if he is to successfully secure two championships in a row.
Hill trails championship leader Brookes by one point and is predicted to perform well at Knockhill after the track played host to two victories in the title race last year.
Another rider to watch is Shane Byrne, who is in third place after round four.
Better known by his nickname, Shakey, Byrne has 197 BSB races under his belt.
As a title winner in 2003, Shakey is a BSB veteran and has dedicated plenty of time practising at Knockhill.
There are still seven more races after Knockhill and the top six positions are still being battled for.
Those still in the race after Donington in September will square off for the title.
