An OAP told social workers he “wouldn’t lose any sleep if someone slit the throat” of one of their colleagues.
Patrick O’Brien made the comment after getting angry during an appointment with social work staff during a meeting in Arbroath.
In a follow-up meeting the following day he was then found to have a lock knife in his possession when police were called to investigate the matter.
At Forfar Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 68-year-old O’Brien admitted an indictment alleging that he behaved in a threatening manner at East Mary Street, Arbroath, on November 19 last year, shouted and swore and made an alarming comment in relation to a social worker there.
He also admitted having the lock knife, but told police he had been using it to lay carpets.
Sheriff Gregor Murray deferred sentence until October 16 for reports to be obtained.
