John Galloway, 29, pleaded guilty to stealing the items from Tesco on Strathmartine Road, Dundee, on Tuesday. Galloway, of Newton Avenue, Arbroath, stole 10 blocks of cheese, a bottle of Daz and a bottle of Fairy Liquid. He had recently been made redundant and was on an undertaking to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today at the time of the theft. Handing down the six month sentence, Sheriff Brown said that shoplifting is a blight on the honest members of the community.
