One of the more unusual premises taking part in Doors Open Day at the weekend was the former Royal Observer Corps bunker at Elliot, Arbroath.
The bunker’s “door” is a narrow, five metre vertical shaft negotiated by a fixed metal ladder.
The bunker, which is now privately owned and run as a museum by former ROC member Cheryl Stewart, is one of only two similar bunkers open for public access in Scotland.
Among visitors at the weekend was a party from Arbroath Rotaract and Arbroath Rotary who were shown round the bunker and its above-ground museum.
The Arbroath bunker is open to the public by appointment only.
