An Angus chef has picked up a top award at this year’s Food Awards Scotland. Andrew Stott, 46, set up his restaurant, Le Bistro Beaumartin, in Glasgow in 2012 after spending five years working in French restaurants. He picked up the award for Best European Restaurant at the industry ceremony. He said: “I left Arbroath when I was 17 and worked in several restaurants in Britain and France before setting up my own establishment. “I didn’t expect to win the award at all. I’m absolutely delighted.”
