Charity’s thanks for Angus fundraiser for his tireless efforts
ByDamon Rhind
A tireless fundraiser has been rewarded for his efforts by scooping a top post with a national charity.
Arbroath man Ian Wren has been appointed as fundraising manager for armed forces welfare charity HorseBack UK.
Ian has spent 26 years working for SSE and has been a volunteer for the charity for five years, raising more than £120,000 in that time.
HorseBack UK helps serving or past members of the armed forces.
The idea is to improve the quality of life of those who have been injured or wounded and are suffering mental or physical illness or disability.
Ian said: “Part of my duties is to assist fundraisers in their efforts to raise money for the cause.
“I also have events of my own organised, which include a cheese and wine/auction night on Saturday February 7 in the Studio in Arbroath’s Market Place.”
Anyone interested in buying tickets for the cheese and wine event, or information about the other events, can contact Ian on 07983 936 840 or by emailing wren.ian@gmail.com.
