The licensed trade in Angus is set to find out which of the county’s premises are best managed, have the best customer service and ambience.
The Angus Best Bar None initiative, now in its fourth year and organised by the Focus on Alcohol Angus project, has announced the list of accredited premises eligible for the sought-after Best Bar None Awards.
The scheme aims to drive up standards among the licensed trade and encourage the safe, responsible drinking of alcohol in the county. Invitations to take part were launched in April and since then premises have been undertaking their individual assessments.
Robert Peat, chairman of Angus Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, said, “We are now at the stage where the final decisions are being taken to award, for the first time this year, bronze, silver and gold winners for the premises taking part.
“We are also awarding a bespoke award for the overall best pub, bar or night club. At this stage I would like to thank all the premises that have taken part in this initiative which undoubtedly helps to reduce the problems associated with the misuse of alcohol in Angus.”
The awards ceremony will be on November 25 at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.
