An Angus biker is recovering in hospital after sustaining serious leg injuries in a collision with a car.
The male rider was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the crash on the A92 Arbroath to Montrose Road, at around 6.40am on Monday.
Debris was scattered across the road after the green Kawasaki ZX600 collided with a blue Peugeot, at the junction of the B965 road leading to Chapleton.
The man, who is understood to be from Arbroath, was thrown 20ft down a ditch as his bike careered off the road and came to rest on its side, at the bottom of an embankment.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the road was closed in both directions while the vehicles were removed.
Police secured the area while paramedics treated the injured biker.
Police have urged anybody who may have seen the crash to come forward.
A spokesman said: ”The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital where he has sustained leg injuries.”
