Angus Council in talks over crumbling coastal path along Seaton Cliffs near Arbroath
ByNews reporter
Angus Council and the Scottish Wildlife Trust are set to discuss how to tackle a dangerous, crumbling clifftop in a popular tourist area.
The path running along Seaton Cliffs from Victoria Park in Arbroath to Auchmithie has been closed since March 18, following a significant landslip.
Council officers have spent over a month and a half assessing the area and will now meet the landowners to discuss the best way forward.
Although the Scottish Wildlife Trust owns the land, it is the local authority that is responsible for public access and has, therefore, taken the lead on the project.
As well as a short-term fix, more permanent remedial measures and possible realignment of the coastal path are being considered.
