An Angus farm shop has shut its doors after being hit by thieves twice in two months.
A sign outside Tillygloom Farm, near Brechin, now reads “closed due to repeated thefts”. The owners believe thieves were watching the store.
John and Fiona Watson have had enough after a safe was drilled out from the shop wall.
Mrs Watson, 43, said: “On Friday night we decided to go out for tea. We were away for two hours at the most. We had a little safe that was attached to the wall.
“When we got up on Saturday morning they had drilled it out.”
Money was also taken from the shop when the couple went on holiday.
She said the couple knew their “fantastic” regular customers were not to blame.
Mrs Watson added: “Every van that pulls up, you’re thinking ‘who are they and what are they up to’ which isn’t nice because you have to have that trust.”
