One of the longest lived residents in Angus has died peacefully after a short illness, aged 105.
Bertha Jane Hastie, nee Pringle, was born the second of 11 siblings at Baitland, Airlie, in 1909.
After moving around Angus, the family settled in Forfar, first at Green Street in the 1920s and Peffers Place in 1931, before moving to Lowson Terrace.
Mrs Hastie married James in 1938 and the couple had four children.
She spent her last five birthdays in the Storyville care home, and her family have extended their thanks to staff and volunteers for their care during her stay.
She is survived by children James and Jean, and a large extended family with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to the funeral service at Parkgrove Crematorium, Friockheim, on Thursday at 1.30pm.
