An Angus tourist attraction is to receive a £50,000 New Year makeover.
The council-run Pictavia centre near Brechin will close on Monday, January 10, for a project that will see the entrance area revamped to make it more visitor friendly.
The building, which also serves as a VisitScotland information centre, is scheduled to reopen on February 19.
Angus Council economic development spokesman David May said, “This investment by the council will enhance the facilities at Pictavia for visitors and ensure that this remains one of the most popular attractions in Angus.”
Through interactive exhibits, touchscreen computer games, exhibitions and a display of some the carved stones found in Angus, Pictavia tells the story of the Picts who inhabited Angus 2000 years ago.
They were first written of during the Roman campaign of Emperor Severus in 210 AD.
