An army of volunteers stormed the beaches of Angus at the weekend as part of a national clean-up.
The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) welcomed recruits of all ages to help clear litter from seasides across the county.
Volunteers took to the sand at Monifieth, Arbroath, Auchmithie, Lunan Bay, Montrose and St Cyrus in addition to the beach at Broughty Ferry.
MCS surveys have recorded a steady increase in the amount of beach litter since 1994, with public, fishing, sanitary and shipping the top offenders.
This year the Monifieth/Soyaux Twinning Organisation helped at Monifieth Beach, with a sponsored clean-up supported by Tayside Recyclers.
The last Beachwatch clean-up at Broughty Ferry found thousands of sections of polystyrene packaging that had come adrift of some builders’ soft landing bags.
