A popular Arbroath attraction has announced that it has ceased trading.
Arbroath Sea Safari, which took people on boat tours around the Bell Rock Lighthouse and the town’s spectacular coastline, has been unable to find a buyer.
Announcing the news on Facebook, skipper Andrew Spence said: “It is with sadness that I bear the news that Arbroath sea Safari has ceased trading as of today.
“Due to family reasons I am unable to run the business any longer and have been unable to find a suitable buyer.
“I have had so much fun doing it and will miss it immensely. Thank you to all of our customers over the years.”
Mr Spence had announced his intention to step away from the business at the end of the 2014 season. However, he had hope someone would come forward to buy it and keep the tours going.

The boat tours operated annually from May to September and the firm’s demise is being seen as a blow to the town’s tourism offering.
Reacting to the news on social media, Gill Howie said: “Gutted – very sad to hear – was great to watch the boat returning with so many happy smiley people on board – a great loss for Arbroath.”
George Ramsay said: “Brilliant service you provided for the town. One of the best trips I’ve ever been on.”
Susan Howell said: “Oh no this is sad news. We had a great day on the coastal last year and was looking forward to it again this year. Huge loss to the town.”
