A 25-year-old Montrose man sent pictures of his penis to girls as young as nine and asked them if they thought it was small, a court has heard.
Michael Grimes admitted sending photographs of his genitals to three girls he did not know using Facebook, as well as inappropriate sexual messages to girls under the age of 16.
The youngest victim was just nine when she started receiving private messages from the accused, who she did not know, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.
Depute fiscal Donna Brown said: “He sent three separate images of his penis to her. He asked her if she thought his penis was small. She told her mother, who contacted police.”
The court heard how Grimes sent the private messages after the girl accepted his friend request on Facebook.
A search of his home had revealed pictures on his laptop and his mobile phone, as well as the pair of pink boxer shorts he had been wearing in some of the indecent pictures.
In another incident, Grimes met up with a 14-year-old girl at his home after saying he would give her cigarettes, but the victim left when she “got freaked out” by him.
The court heard Grimes asked the girl to send pictures of herself over Facebook, which she refused to do, but he sent her four or five pictures of his penis to her.
Grimes, of St John’s Place, Montrose, admitted using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards a 14-year-old girl between March 2011 and October 2012.
He also admitted sending written sexual communications and pictures of his penis to another 14-year-old girl between April 2012 and April 2014.
A further charge related to a nine-year-old girl who Grimes caused to look at sexual images by sending a picture of his penis over social media in March 2015.
Grimes is currently subject to the notification requirements of the sex offenders register, which he already breached by his latest Facebook communication with the nine-year-old.
He was granted bail while social work reports are prepared and will appear again on April 18.
