The Tayside woman who attracted national media attention after she was filmed assaulting a woman with a pizza shovel was sentenced for a separate assault at Forfar Sheriff Court.
Dalgit Din gained notoriety after a video of her hitting Deborah Williamson with the metal shovel at the Spice of Life takeaway was uploaded to video sharing website YouTube.
She was subsequently admonished by Sheriff Gregor Murray who said she had been “sorely tested” before she carried out the attack.
Din, of Arbroath Road in Dundee, appeared at court on Thursday for an assault on her son Shahzaz Bobby Din which took place after an argument about free drinks at his Arbroath hotel on February 18 last year.
The 65-year-old had previously admitted throwing a brandy glass at her son at the Cliffburn Hotel.
Depute fiscal Bill Kermode previously told the court that police found Din “intoxicated” after she called them, claiming she had been assaulted.
“At 1.30am the complainer and two witnesses were at the locus,” he said.
“On entering the snooker hall, the accused offered the witnesses a drink from the bar, to which the complainer took offence and told the accused she should charge them for the drinks.
“The accused stated she would pay for them herself, and an argument ensued.
“At that point the accused picked up a brandy glass and threw it at the complainer, hitting him on the body.”
Defence agent Ian Flynn said: “She accepts that she threw a glass at her son following an assault on her by her son.
“It was after her son was removed from her by her daughter.
“There has been no incidents since then and they live together in the same house.”
Sheriff Pino DiEmidio imposed a fine of £100, reduced from £150 to take account of Din’s early plea.
He said: “There have been two admonitions in the relatively recent past and the court has to take things more seriously in your circumstances.”
