A teenager who headbutted another 17-year-old out of a sense of sibling protection has been placed on a structured deferred sentence by a sheriff.
Forfar Sheriff Court heard Liam Harris attacked the boy because he thought he had been bullying his younger brother at school.
That had not been the case, but when the victim apologised anyway Harris butted him several times, cutting his victim’s lip.
Harris, 17, of Traill Terrace, Montrose admitted the attack on Montrose’s Provost Johnston Road on April 7 when he appeared before Sheriff Pino Di Emidio at Forfar on Thursday.
He was placed on a low tariff deferred sentence until October 2.
