A man and woman are due to appear in court today in connection with an alleged Forfar street assault.
They were arrested and charged following an intensive police inquiry into an incident in the town’s Kirkton Place on Monday night.
A 34-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital after being injured in the incident around 8pm.
Police said they were following a positive line of inquiry in the wake of the alleged assault and confirmed the arrests this morning.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: ”A 22-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man have been charged and are expected to appear at Forfar sheriff court today.”
The condition of the victim has not been released.
