Elderly woman hit by car in Kirriemuir

An elderly woman was knocked down by a car in Kirriemuir on Saturday morning.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was injured in Glengate at about 11am after being struck by a Ford C-Max.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics then taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

It is understood that she is in a stable condition and her injuries are not life threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them on 101.
