Organisers hope Barry Buddon half marathon will be first of many

There were warm and dry running conditions for the people who took part in the inaugural Barry Buddon half marathon on Sunday.
Around 300 runners set off from inside the central compound of the MoD site, and the race passed by the shooting areas which were used by the Commonwealth Games in July.
Event spokesman Alan Lawson said: “The weather was a little warm but people were happy with the course, which is very scenic.
“We are hoping to run the event again next year.”
The winning man was Scott Martin, of Kilmarnock Harriers, with a time of 1.16.20. Jennifer Emsley from Stirling club Central AC was first lady with a time of 1.19.42.
