Braedyn Reid, 9, who plays for Forfar Boys’ Club, is recovering at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow. He was brought out of his medically-induced coma after responding to treatment after the incident on Thursday. His heart stopped twice after he collapsed during a coaching session at Webster’s Sports Centre football pitches in Kirriemuir. A Forfar Boys’ Club coach performed CPR and got Braedyn’s heart started again but it stopped for a second time. Council staff at the centre and an off-duty doctor also provided emergency first aid prior to the arrival of the ambulance. Braedyn was first taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee before being transferred to Glasgow by air ambulance. His parents, Louise McCafferty, 38, and Wayne Reid, 37, remained at his bedside in Glasgow over the weekend. Police confirmed officers attended on Thursday after Braedyn’s collapse during training. Forfar Boys’ Club was formed in 1975 and consists of 11 teams ranging from under sevens to under 19s. About 180 boys play or train with the club.
