Sorry Arbroath DOESN’T have an official fireworks display
ByRob McLaren
Angus Council has confirmed that there is no official fireworks display in Arbroath on Bonfire Night.
Contrary to information on websites and across social media, there won’t be a display at the town’s Victoria Park this year.
There has been an official display in Arbroath for the past seven years, before Arbroath Events stopped organising an event last year.
As their swansong last year more than £20,000 of fireworks lit up the sky, attracting crowds of around 10,000 to Arbroath.
A council spokesman said: “We can confirm there is no official bonfire display in Arbroath on November 5.
“There will be council staff on standby to remove any unauthorised bonfires on any of our land.”
