Former Brechin City Football Club physiotherapist Tom Gilmartin has died. He was 66.
A hugely popular member of the Angus club and within the Brechin and wider football communities Mr Gilmartin died on Wednesday at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
As well as getting more than a generation of injured players from the treatment table to the pitch at Glebe Park, Mr Gilmartin also used his expertise to help restore scores of people from the community at his regular physiotherapy clinics.
A spokesman said Mr Gilmartin was “a true gentleman with time and knowledge to spare for everyone”.
He added: “Our condolences go to Tommy’s wife June, sons David, Mark and Douglas and to the extended family.
“Tommy and his father before him gave outstanding service to Brechin City FC for over 30 years and to the wider community as a whole through his unique knowledge of sports-related injuries and general appetite for life.”
