A busy year lies ahead for the volunteers behind the drive to create a community hub for Carnoustie.
The plans to develop the facility on the site of the former Kinloch primary now include the ambition to deliver a cinema for the town, similar to attractions which have been created in semi-rural towns Aberfeldy, Banchory and Lerwick.
The cinema plan emerged at the top of a community consultation wish list but consultants say it could cost about £2 million.
Funds for the community scheme have been building steadily and the group behind the plan hope to stage a special public meeting soon to present the design brief for the project.
That will be part of a drive to raise the profile of the project in the hope of attracting more local support, as the steering group continues its work to identify other potential sources of funding.
Group chairman Peter Murphy said a number of other initiatives were in the pipeline, including a repeat of a successful ceilidh night, which last year raised more than £2,000, and a plan to get local schoolchildren involved in fundraising.
