A92 closed after lorry strikes Inverkeilor railway bridge

The A92 was blocked in both directions between Arbroath and Montrose this morning after a lorry collided with railway bridge at Inverkeilor.
The lorry tipped over onto its side and it took several hours before the vehicle was removed from the road.
Emergency services attended the incident and the driver was taken to Arbroath Royal Infirmary to receive treatement for minor injuries.
He was later charged by Police Scotland for driving offences.
The incident near Main Road occurred around 5.50am.
A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “An empty HGV tried to get under the railway bridge at Inverkeilor but got stuck.”
ScotRail has said services running through Montrose and Arbroath were delayed because of the incident but services returned to normal shortly before 8am once the bridge had been checked to ensure it wa still structurally sound.
The road remained closed until around 1.30pm with traffic diverted via Friockheim.
