Carnoustie and District Pipe Band has appointed a new pipe major after Ian Campbell stepped down at the end of the season.
Experienced player Struan Moffat has taken up the role, after achieving success as a solo piper and with various bands, most recently with Police Scotland Fife Pipe Band.
Piper Neil MacLeod paid tribute to the enormous contribution Mr Campbell made to the band’s development.
He said: “The legacy of his contribution will continue through the skills, knowledge and passion for pipe bands that he shared with us.”
Mr MacLeod added: “Between competitions, band practices and fundraising, Carnoustie has performed at local events including the torchlight parade and Christmas lights switch-on in their home town and the newly re-established remembrance parade in Monifieth.
“The support of the community, businesses and local charities over the year is greatly appreciated and the backing and encouragement of parents and families remains fantastic.
“Carnoustie and District Pipe Band has established itself as a band capable of success in competition and with more young members progressing from the practice hall to the competition arena, the band has a bright future.”
