A court case brought by an Angus couple over their neighbours’ barking dogs has been further delayed.
The long-running saga called at Forfar JP court for a scheduled hearing in the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 application brought by Sarah Begg and Paul Mavor, of Wirren Gardens in Montrose, against Bruce and Avril Coutts.
Already the subject of two days of evidence, the case centres on the alleged disturbance caused by the Coutts’ two dogs a newfoundland and a labrador.
Miss Begg and Mr Mavor have claimed they were subjected to “incessant noise” from the animals after moving into their home in a new Angus Council development in July 2013.
At the latest calling, the Coutts’ legal representative was granted an adjournment in the matter by Justice Rose Rickman, due to principal agent Nick Whelan being involved in other matters in Glasgow.
The court is due to hear the evidence of one further witness for the respondents when the case calls again on February 6.
Miss Begg and Mr Mavor told the court on Friday that the barking situation had “improved greatly” since the last calling of the case.
