An Angus children’s playgroup has been given a “very good” report by inspectors.
Mothergoose Playgroup in St Margaret’s Hall, Old Brechin Road, Lunanhead was paid an unannounced visit by the Care Inspectorate on November 14 and the body has now published its findings.
Qualities of care and support, environment, staffing, and management and leadership were all graded as “very good”.
The service is registered to provide a care service to a maximum of 24 children from age two and a half years to those not yet attending primary school.
The inspector commented: “Staff were working very closely with parents and children to meet their individual needs.
“Children were provided with a wide range of activities in a stimulating environment.
“Children were confident, safe and secure.”
A suggestion was made to standardise risk assessment procedures and to review storage facilities for paper hand towels in the toilet area to reduce any risk of cross contamination.
The inspector added that a new manager has been appointed since the last inspection.
The Care Inspectorate regulates care services in Scotland.
