We Will Rock You watch Carnoustie piper playing with supergroup Queen at Glasgow Hydro

An Angus piper is coming back down to earth after playing with rock legends Queen to 10,000 fans in Glasgow.

Craig Weir, 21 described playing the opening to We Will Rock You on stage at the SSE Hydro last night as “one of the best moments of my life.”

The Carnoustie piper was asked by guitarist Brian May to join the band as a surprise for the audience on the Scottish leg of their world tour.

Craig, who is pipe sergeant of the Arbroath Royal British Legion Pipe Band and frontman for four-piece Celtic rock band Gleadhraich, performed during the encore.

He said: “I got such an adrenaline buzz from it.”
