Internationally-renowned singer Elaine Paige has announced a one-off performance at the Glamis Prom this year.
The prom marks its return as a Courier Country calendar fixture on July 18 following a two-year absence.
Organisers are celebrating a coup for the event as Paige will sing alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The veteran performer announced her retirement from touring last year to concentrate on single performances.
She said: “When I announced last year that I’d just be doing the occasional one-off special concert from now on, Glamis Castle sounded the perfect place to perform.”
Paige, 66, has recorded 21 solo albums and earned eight consecutive gold and four multi-platinum discs and has achieved chart-topping hits, including Memory, Don’t Cry For Me Argentina and I Know Him So Well.
Glamis Prom has forged a reputation for classical music set against the backdrop of Glamis Castle, where music lovers are encouraged to enjoy their own food and drink.
A spokesman for Glamis Proms Ltd said: “After a two-year absence from the Angus classical calendar, Glamis Prom will return to Scotland’s most beautiful castle.
“It promises to be a spectacular evening.”
