Police officers from across Scotland and the UK have joined forces in the hunt for an elusive gang who raided a cash machine at Kirriemuir.
Upwards of £100,000 was stolen from the Royal Bank of Scotland ATM in Kirriemuir on the last Saturday before Christmas.
No one has been arrested to date for the crime and a £25,000 reward was posted recently in the hope of attracting fresh information.
There has been a proliferation of cash machine raids across the country in recent weeks, the latest taking place at a convenience store in Edinburgh.
It was targeted on Sunday in a heist where masked thieves lassoed an in-shop ATM and towed it away.
A CCTV review showed the machine was carted off and three suspects are wanted for the incident.
With detectives working on the possibility that all or a number of the robberies have been committed by the same gang, forces are pooling information in the hope of a breakthrough.
Scottish detectives are working closely with colleagues in Merseyside who also have first-hand experience of ATM thefts.
They want to trace two men for conspiracy to cause explosions at cash machines and burglary of banks and shops in 2013.
Officers want to trace Adam Murphy, 29, who is believed to be in Scotland, and Andrew White, 25, who has links to the continent and may be in Spain.
The hunt for the pair is part of inquiries which resulted in seven men being jailed last year for the theft of £800,000 from 28 cash machines in banks, post offices and supermarkets across England, with sentences totalling 114 years.
Tayside officers still want to track down a distinctive blue BMW M135i fitted with false plates YE63 BPZ that was spotted in Kirrie at the time of the organised hit there, as well as a failed attempt to empty an ATM in Friockheim.
